March Madness Continues

With the Bulls off tonight, don’t forget to check out the four March Madness games as teams try to make it to the Elite 8. One of the most anticipated games is Florida versus Florida Gulf Coast. I think many people have jumped on the FGCU bandwagon and are hoping they can pull off another upset tonight. With many people’s brackets already garbage, it doesn’t really matter who wins the games at this point, so pulling for the underdogs is always fun.

End of the Streak

I had a feeling that if any team could beat the Heat with a handful of injured players, it would be the Chicago Bulls. Their stifling play and hard-nosed defense can win them some tough games. After last night’s win, the Bulls are now 2-1 against the Heat this season. One can only imagine what the game would have been like if the Bulls were at full strength. Many people would say the Bulls would have dominated if they had their full roster, but the same people might not have stepped up and it could have been a completely different game.

With Derrick Rose still out, the Bulls would have a tough time beating the Heat in a seven game series. However, last night’s game proved the Bulls can still hang with the top teams in the league. Before the Heat game, there was speculation that Rose would possibly return, but hours before tipoff, reports confirmed Rose would not play. He says he is still unsure whether or not he will return this year.

In Durability, James A Contrast To Rose, Plenty Other NBA Legends

CHICAGO – LeBron James qualified his answer even before he gave it: He’s no doctor – doesn’t even play one on TV. He has no insight into the inner workings of Derrick Rose‘s left knee or the Chicago Bulls’ decision-making process. So his views on Rose’s continuing comeback are simply as interested observer. And fan.

“I love competing against the best and he’s one of the best,” James said Wednesday morning after the Miami Heat’s shootaround at United Center. The streaking Heat are in town, looking to extend their run of consecutive victories to 28 against, when healthy, one of their primary Eastern Conference rivals.

Alas, Rose, the Bulls’ explosive point guard, will extend his streak of consecutive regular-season games missed to 70, owing to his injury in Game 1 of the playoffs last spring and his ongoing rehab both physically and psychologically. Chicago without Rose, and with a…

Rose not returning for Heat game. Fine. But it’s time for him to make a call.

ProBasketballTalk

It shouldn’t be a surprise after he missed the first 69 games this season, but because it would have been a dramatic return some people were holding out hope:

Derrick Rose will not play against the Miami Heat Wednesday.

Rose confirmed that speaking with the media after shootaround.

Rose hasn’t played all season and to expect him to come back for this game — especially just because the Heat are on a winning streak — defeats the very idea of him getting fully healthy before returning to the court. While he has been cleared by doctors obviously Rose isn’t comfortable on his leg yet, he said he’s had pain, and he isn’t confident as he feels…

Streak Comes to Chicago

The Miami Heat are in Chicago tonight to try and extend their winning streak to 28 games. They have a great chance with Derrick Rose still out and other Bulls’ players with lingering injuries. It would be the biggest win of the year if the Bulls can pull off the upset and end the Heat’s impressive streak. It’ll take a total team effort and they will have to try and shut down leading MVP candidate Lebron James, who has been on a tear during this win streak. If the Bulls have one of their great defensive games, it could be a battle tonight. It will be a grind out game and everyone in Chicago wants to see the Heat’s streak come to an end tonight at the United Center.

Other Stars Say Rose Should Sit Out

Other Stars Say Rose Should Sit Out

Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane said he thinks the Chicago Bulls should shut down Derrick Rose for the rest of the season. Kane says Rose is so young that there is no point in taking the risk of injuring his knee again. He should just sit out the rest of the season and come back completely healthy next season.

I think it is very interesting to see other star athletes commenting on Rose’s return. When you hear other people say he should sit out, you start thinking about it a little more. Kane makes some great points about Rose being a very young player and it is not worth the risk to come back so late in the season. Sitting out would be best so he can come back 100% and help the Bulls contend for a championship, which is not something he could help them with this season.

Time To Shut Down Derrick Rose

CHICAGO – Derrick Rose wants to do what’s best for Derrick Rose. He has been clear about that from the start of his long, painstaking rehab from knee surgery last spring, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

The Chicago Bulls are going to do what’s best for Derrick Rose. That has been their default position whenever the topic has come up, which only has been every day, repeatedly, for the past 10 months.

Fans of the team should want all parties involved to do what’s best for Derrick Rose. They have been bystanders, cheerleaders and skeptics through this process, investing both money and emotions into the lengthy wait, constantly weighing the short-term against the long-term and mostly coming up stumped.

So let’s make it easy for them here and now:

The Bulls should shut down Derrick Rose till October.

Enough already. The networks and affiliates have more…
