Anthony Says Back Off

Anthony Says Back Off

New York Knicks superstar, Carmelo Anthony, says he wishes people would stop rushing Derrick Rose back. He’ll come back when he’s ready, but continuing to put pressure on him is not going to help the cause. Anthony says he thinks Rose should wait until next season to return, so he is 110% mentally and physically prepared. Anthony joins a handful of athletes who have come out and said to let Rose make the decision himself and to wait until next season to make his awaited return.

The Bulls have been playing well of late without Rose. Last night they ended the Knicks 13-game win streak. Just 16 days earlier, the Bulls ended the Heat’s win streak. Rose isn’t going to lead the Bulls to a championship if he returns this season, but coming back next season when he’s ready will make a much bigger impact for the Bulls and the city of Chicago.

What Now?

The college basketball season is officially over after the UCONN ladies won their eighth national championship last night by defeating Louisville. People who were using March Madness to keep themselves busy now have to find something else to do. The latest news on Derrick Rose is that he and the Bulls are on the same page with his rehab. He is not rushing back and the team does not want him to rush back. Both parties realize how important he is to the franchise. Although he has not ruled out a return this season, there are only a handful of games before the playoffs start and many people believe Rose should just shut it down and be ready for next season when he could really make a difference for the team.

The Madness Continues

March Madness is back this weekend with the first game already underway. The Wichita State Shockers and Louisville Cardinals are at halftime with the Shockers leading by one point. The second game between the Michigan Wolverines and the Syracuse Orange will follow. Both games should be very exciting. The winners will play Monday night for the NCAA championship. This is always one of the most exciting times of the year. Some people still have brackets they are worried about, while other people are just watching some great basketball. If you don’t have anything else to do, turn on CBS to see some great games and don’t forget about the championship on Monday night.

Close, But Still No Answer

Bulls’ coach, Tom Thibodeau, said Derrick Rose is “close” to coming back, but there has still been no decision made by Rose. There are only eight games left in the regular season, so if he is going to come back, now would be the time. If he’s not coming back during the regular season, then there is not really a point to make his season debut in the playoffs because he would not be helping the team. The Bulls have had a handful of injuries and getting everyone healthy should be the number one concern, so waiting for next season would be the best bet.

John Wall Backs Derrick Rose

John Wall Backs Derrick Rose

Washington Wizards point guard, John Wall, says he would sit out the rest of the season if he were Derrick Rose. Rose isn’t going to help the Bulls by just playing 20 minutes a game, especially with the playoffs looming. It would be best for him to wait and come back next season when he is actually physically and most of all, mentally healthy.

Horrible Injury

After last night’s Duke vs. Louisville game, Bulls fans may think that Derrick Rose’s injury wasn’t so bad. Louisville guard, Kevin Ware, broke his right leg during the first half of their Elite 8 game. It was probably the worst sports injury since the Redskins Joe Theismann. Players couldn’t bring themselves together after seeing their teammate suffer such a horrific injury. However, before being carried off the court, Ware called his teammates over and told them to just win the game and that is exactly what they did.

Ware underwent surgery last night in an Indianapolis hospital. Coach Rick Pitino was with Ware during his surgery. This morning, Ware is up on crutches and wearing his Regional Championship hat.
